The Pilkongton glass facades installed at The Holmenkollen Station cleans the Oslo air of harmful nitrogen oxides - Research has documented that titandioksid coating on facades helps clean polluted city air! City Parks are usually the method to reduce air pollution through ordinary photosynthesis. With custom glass titanoksid coating, which RRA chose for The Holmenkollen station, we can obtain a very similar photocatalytic effect. UV radiation activates titanoksid coating which acts as a catalyst that breaks down the harmful nitrogen oxides into harmless and easily soluble nitrates, which are washed away with the rain.
