The center has a privileged location at the head of Jøssingfjorden, between mountains and water. With a closeness to the existing traces of earlier habitation and industry. The experience of the project will be characterized by the interaction between these elements and the new facility.
The building is organized around the changing room sequences, with visual contact to the surrounding landscape, the museum's outdoor unit and the house's interior. This so the various landscapes give glimpse and views, blending into the house's interior visual environment. In this way lines in the landscape gives the building its visual character.
Senteret har fått en priviligert plassering lengst inne i Jøssingfjorden, mellom bratte fjellsider og vannkanten. Med nærhet til de eksisterende reminissenser av tildligere beboelse og industri. Opplevelsen av prosjektet skal preges av et samspill mellom disse elementene og det nye anlegget.
Bygget er organisert omkring varierende visuelle romforløp med kontakt til det omkringliggende landskapet, til museets utedel og til i husets indre. Dette slik at de ulike landskapsrrom gir gløtt og utsikt, og blander seg inn i husets visuelle indre miljø. Linjeføringene i landskapet gir bygget dets visuelle karakter.
